Art Is An Adventure

Years ago I dreamed of being an artist. My grandmother taught me to make my own patterns for clothes or whatever I wanted. I made all the clothes my daughter wore when she was young, a lot of them from sketches I did while visiting high end children's stores. So, I thought, maybe this is my art. I enjoyed it. Eventually I started doing crafts and making quilts. I made costumes for my children and some of my friends children. Again, this must be my art. It made me happy. Then I began a journey of photography. I wanted so badly to become a great photographer. I think I failed at that, or at least in some ways. I do enjoy photography but I'll never be great at it. Photography is not my art. In late 2019 and early 2020 Covid hit the United States. It hit this house and it took me a couple of years to get over it. During that time, I found a different art. I had heard the story of the Kindness Rocks and decided I would like to try that. I mean, I didn't feel I was a real artist but the thought of leaving painted rocks around town for others to find, that sounded like something I would enjoy. I have found a peace in painting. I have discovered that this is "my art". I have decided to challenge myself to a "365 Days of Art". They may not be consecutive as life happens but I will work at completing 365 pieces of art. Some of it will be on rocks and some of it will be on canvas. I'll post pictures a long the journey. I'll try to include a description as well as whatever it is that has inspired the painting. Sometimes it'll be a tutorial, sometimes a picture on pinterest and other times from a photograph I've taken. I hope you'll join me in this adventure.
